the Triad - Triskele - Spirals

The triskele or triskelion is a three pronged spiral.  To ancient Celts it represented the triple Goddesses, or the cycle of life, death, and rebirth.  To later Christian Celts is a symbolized the Trinity of Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The triad is a symbolic of the cyclical nature of life and suggestive of the endless succession of cycles in our own lives.  The triple spiral, or triskele, rmeinds us of the three stages of life, the three levels of awareness, and the three generations within the proto-Celtic New Grange Monument in Ireland which was built more than 1,000 years before the pyramids and used for many of the same functions.
